Joint pain can be caused by gout, arthritis, injuries, broken or dislocated bones. If you suffer from joint pain, these eight foods may be aggravating your inflammation:
#1 Processed sugar – Triggers the release of inflammatory messengers called cytokines, and can lead to weight gain which puts more pressure on your joints.
#2 Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) – Like sugar it can trigger inflammation thus worsening joint pain.
#3 Alcohol – Beer contains purines and gluten. Purines are converted into uric acid in the body which worsens joint pain. Gluten is harmful to fragile joints.
#4 Refined Carbs – White flour products contain high glycemic index which fuels the production of inflammatory compounds.
#5 Red & processed meats – These contain purines and nitrates. Both of these chemical aggravate pain and inflammation in the body.
#6 Dairy products – Studies show that the majority of adults have some difficulty digesting milk, and it can trigger an inflammatory response.
#7 Refined salt – High in additives and chemicals that disrupt the body’s fluid balance. If you want to use cooking salt then Himalayan pink salt is a better alternative.
#8 Corn oil – High in Mega-6 fatty acids which can trigger inflammation.
